An unruly passenger on an American Airlines plane was caught on a camera sucker punching a flight attendant in the back of the head.

When the flight, which was traveling from Mexico to Los Angeles, California, finally landed, authorities arrested the rude passenger at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

American Airlines confirmed to CBS News that the alleged attack occurred on Flight 377 from San Jose del Cabo to LAX on Wednesday.

The man was taken off the plane after it landed in Los Angeles and arrested on suspicion of interfering with cabin crew, a federal crime, according to the FBI, which is conducting the investigation.

While on the plane, Barry Livingston captured a short video of the altercation between the suspect and the flight attendant and shared it on social media.

The short clip shows the flight attendant standing in the aisle of the plane asking the passenger, in a flowery orange shirt, if they are threatening them.

‘Are you threatening me. Are you threatening me?’ The flight attendant asks before she turns to head toward the front of the plane.

Then, the ill-behaved passenger can be seen lunging at the flight attendant and hitting her hard in the back of the head with a closed fist before returning to his seat.

‘My God!’ Another passenger immediately shouted after the man shocked the stewardess. ‘What are you doing?’

Owner Earnest, a producer for KFMB-TV, who was on the plane, said passengers moved in to help restrain the assault suspect until the plane landed and police removed him.

In a statement, American Airlines said a passenger who “physically assaulted a flight attendant” will not be welcomed on their planes again in the future.

The Association of Professional Flight Attendants, a union representing more than 24,000 flight attendants who work for the airline, denounced the alleged assault in a statement, noting that this was the type of “dangerous” and “life-threatening” behavior that puts flight attendants at risk. newspaper.
